The impact of certain unearthed ancient records on the history of science and technology

The impact of unearthed artifacts and records on the history of science and technology is multifold and significant. In recent decades, the impact is of particular interest due to a number of major archaeological discoveries. Thia paper investigates (1) the impact of ancient records inscribed on unearthed musical instruments such as bronze bells and bamboo pitch-pipes on the early history of acoustics, (2) the impact of unearthed artifacts on the dating of the contents of the oldest extant records on technology entitled Kao Gong Ji (The Artificers' Record), and (3) the impact of the unearthed bamboo-slit book (黃狡) entitled Suan Shu-Shu on the early history of mathematics and on the dating of the contents of the well-known book Jiu-Zhang Suan-Shu (Mathematics in Nine Chapters).
