Andrea is based at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (MPIWG) as a Predoctoral Fellow in the Lise Meitner Research Group ‘China in the Global System of Science’. She is carrying out her PhD research at the Faculty of Management and Business at the Tampere University (Finland), and is also an associate lecturer at the‘Center for Cultural Studies on Science & Technology in China’ (CSST) at the TU Berlin. In her PhD, she studies the development and dynamics of international research cooperation with Chinese higher education and research institutions. More broadly, her research interests cover organisational behaviour, higher education management, research and innovation policy with focus on Europe-Asia, as well as skilled migration within the context of China's contemporary socio-economic development. Andrea holds an MSc in anthropology with China focus from the London School of Economics and Political Science, she studied Chinese at the National Chengchi University in Taipei and Beijing Normal University.
