Iron and Steel in Chinese History (PS/SE)

Inhalt

The course will cover the development of iron production and use in China from the earliest beginnings to the 20th century. Technical issues will be considered, but the emphasis will be on economic, geographic, and political factors. Readings for the course will be found on the web-sites:
