In the winter term 2019/20 we had an open lecture series “China: Strategic Partner or Systemic Rival” focussing on the recent changes of EU-China relations. After having covered several topics, we ended the semester exactly at a time when Covid-19 took its hold on Europe, changing our world profoundly and rearranging global power relations. In this semester we will look at these changes, once again with renowned international experts, but this time in the form of discussions. Our experts will explore the topics together with Chinese invitees so as to offer a broader palette of views.

For students who want to obtain credit points, the lecture series is conceptualized as a blended learning course. It is made up of two parts: on the one hand biweekly public discussions by internationally acknowledged experts and on the other hand an E-course where the students will read about, research and analyse the topics further. The discussions will be carried out in English as an online live broadcast. For the E-course the students can freely choose between English and German. (folgt)
